IRL Convening: NYC Museum Workers

Description

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. You are welcome to register, but you will be automatically placed on a waitlist. MMF will reach out if a space becomes available.

May 23rd, 2024 | 5:30pm – 8pm

Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice (320 E 43rd St, Manhattan)

Building off our in-person workshops in the Bay Area, Houston, and Boston, Museums Moving Forward (MMF) is completing our spring 2024 programming cycle with a convening of art museum workers in the New York and the surrounding region. Grounded in the data that emerged from MMF’s first field-wide study, the convening is an opportunity to connect in person and co-create potential roadmaps for meaningful change.

This facilitated workshop will include:

  • An introduction to the work of MMF
  • Opportunities to connect and reflect with colleagues across art museums, and situate ourselves within MMF’s 2023 report on workplace equity and organizational culture
  • Small group breakouts that are both grounded in personal experience and solutions-focused
  • Intention setting for intra- and inter-regional community building and future collaborations with MMF.

Please fill out the RSVP form for the event you wish to attend by the end of the day May 8th. You must RSVP in order to attend. However, please note that this form does not guarantee a spot in the workshop. After we close registrations, we will review all RSVPs and, if needed, conduct a randomized selection process with an emphasis on representation from a range of regional art museums. This workshop will be capped at 50 participants.

We will notify everyone who has RSVPed of their status by May 9th. If there is more interest than we have space for, we will let you know that we have placed you on a waiting list and notify you ASAP if a space becomes available.
